1 Король Британии Утер умер, и у Великобритании не было короля.

2 На следующий день на рыночной площади появился камень. В камне был спрятан меч, а на камне – следующие слова: «Человек, который вытащит этот меч из камня, и есть истинный король Британии».

3 В то время Артуру было 16 лет. Он жил с сэром Эктором и его сыном Кеем. В городе проходил турнир для всех рыцарей. Артур отправился на турнир в качестве слуги Кея.

4 Кей не смог найти свой меч и отправил Артура на поиски. Артур не смог его найти, но увидел меч в камне и вытащил его, чтобы отдать Кею!

5 Все были поражены! Появился Мерлин и сказал: «Артур, ты сын короля Утера и следующий король Британии!»

One famous Russian legend is about Koschei the Deathless. Koschei was an evil man who could not die. He hid his soul in an egg, and the egg was in a duck. The duck was in a hare, and the hare was in an iron box. The box was under a tree, and the tree was in the sea. A brave prince wanted to stop Koschei, so he found the egg. He broke it and killed Koschei. After that, peace came to the land. People remember this legend to this day.

Одна из известных русских легенд рассказывает о Кощее Бессмертном. Кощей был злым человеком, который не мог умереть. Он спрятал свою душу в яйце, а яйцо было в утке. Утка была в зайце, а заяц – в железном ящике. Шкатулка стояла под деревом, а дерево было в море. Храбрый принц хотел остановить Кощея, поэтому нашел яйцо. Он разбил его и убил Кощея. После этого на земле наступил мир. Люди помнят эту легенду по сей день.

2 The next day, a stone appeared in a market place. There was a sword in the stone and on the stone these words: The man who pulls this sword from the stone is the true King of Britain.

3 At that time, Arthur was 16. He lived with Sir Ector and his son, Kay. There was a tournament in the city for all the knights. Arthur went to the tournament as Kaytasks servant.

4 Kay couldntaskt find his sword and sent Arthur to look for it. Arthur couldntaskt find it, but saw the sword in the stone and pulled it out to give to Kay!

5 Everyone was amazed! Merlin appeared and said, “Arthur, you are the son of King Uther and the next King of Britain!"
