1 Put the verbs in brackets into the present simple. Jasmine Walsh is a teacher. Every morning she 1) gets up at 7 o’clock, has a shower and gets dressed. The classes in Victorian English schools were often very large. Sometimes a single teacher 1) taught 70 or 80 pupils! The children 2) spent their day learning reading, writing and Maths. Pupils 3) sat in rows facing their teacher. The teacher 4) wrote on the blackboard and the pupils 5) copied the lesson on their slates with a sharp tool.
