Кузнечик и муравей

Было лето. Кузнечик жил в зеленой траве возле высокого холма. Он очень любил петь и танцевать. Днем он часто прыгал и играл в траве, а когда темнело, смотрел на звезды в небе и на желтую луну.

Иногда он ходил в горы и гулял по лесу. Он очень хорошо проводил время. Он не работал, не думал о еде. У него было много еды, и его домик был прекрасным местом в траве под цветком.

Однажды кузнечик увидел муравья. Муравей выглядел усталым. Ему было жарко. На спине у него был большой мешок. «Почему ты работаешь в такой прекрасный день?» – спросил Кузнечик.

«Я собираю еду на зиму», – ответил Муравей.

Но Кузнечику эта идея не понравилась. Он любил играть, танцевать и петь.

Вскоре наступила зима. Выпало много снега. У Кузнечика не было еды. Он был очень голоден. Тогда он пошел к Муравью и попросил у него еды.

«Я работал все лето, чтобы собрать себе еду», – сказал Муравей. «Что ты делал?»

«Я много чего делал», – ответил Кузнечик. «Я танцевал, я играл, я слушал музыку».

«Ну, если ты танцуешь и играешь летом и не работаешь, то зимой у тебя не будет еды», – ответил Муравей.

The Grasshopper and the Ant

It was summer. Grasshopper lived in the green grass near a high hill. He liked to sing and dance very much. He often hopped and played in the grass [gra:s] in the daytime and when it was dark, he looked at the stars in the sky and at the yellow moon.

Sometimes he went to the mountains [taskmauntsnz] and walked in the woods. He had a very good time. He didn’t work, he didn’t think about food. He had a lot to cat and his house was a beautiful place in the grass under a flower.

One day the Grasshopper saw an Ant. The Ant looked tired. He was hot. He had a big sack on his back. “Why are you working on such a lovely day?” asked the Grasshopper.

“I am collecting food for winter,” answered the Ant.

But the Grasshopper didn’t like the idea. He liked to play, to dance and to sing.

Soon winter came. There was a lot of snow. The Grasshopper had no food. He was very hungry. So, he went to the Ant and asked him for food.

“I worked all summer to collect my food,” said the Ant. “What did you do?”

“I did a lot of things,” answered the Grasshopper. “I danced, I played, I listened to music.”

“Well, if you dance and play in summer and if you do not work, you have no food in winter,” answered the Ant.
