My School Trip
Calum (11), Leicester, England
06:00 I got up early and went to school.
07:00 I sat next to Mick on the coach and we had sandwiches for breakfast. The traffic was really bad and it took 3 hours to get to London.
10:00-13:30 The first thing we did was go to the Natural History Museum. We saw a lot of interesting things but the thing I liked most was the dinosaur – it was enormous!
13:30-14:30 We got back on the coach and went to the Tower of London. On the way we had more sandwiches for lunch!
14:30-16:00 The Tower of London was fantastic. We saw the Beefeaters and the Crown Jewels.
16:00 17:30 Then we walked to the London Eye. It was a long walk and we weren’t very happy. I was hungry and had another sandwich.
18:00-18:40 The London Eye was brilliant. At the top we were 135 m above London. The views were amazing and we saw Big Ben.
19:00-22:00 We stopped on the way back home and had fish and chips in a restaurant. It was really nice to have fish and chips after all those sandwiches!

Текст аудирования:
I got up really early and we took the train to Paris. It took three hours to get there. The first thing we did was go to the Louvre Museum. The Louvre was great and we saw a lot of amazing paintings but the painting I liked best was the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Then in the afternoon we went for a boat trip on the River Seine and saw one of the most beautiful churches in the world, Notre Dame Cathedral. We got up early the next day to go to the Eiffel Tower. Some children from our school climbed to the top – all 1665 steps! But I took the lift with my friends. The view from the top was fantastic. Then we took the train back to London and that was the end of our two-day trip to Paris.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Met is the largest art museum in the USA. Its collection of nearly two million things is very broad — from ancient times to present day.
The Met was founded in 1870 by a group of American citizens who wanted to bring art to the American people. The first 174 European paintings came to the Museum that year.
