1. Оксфорд - один из старейших британских городов. Он в девяноста километров от Лондона и стоит на Темзе. Темза проходит через Оксфорд, а затем река течет на юго-восток в Лондон.

2. Оксфорд славится своей историей и своим университетом. Он берет свое начало в тринадцатом веке. В то время Оксфорд был торговым городом на реке с протекающими по нему дорогами. Вокруг города были стены, и там жило не так много людей. Но город становился все больше и больше. Люди строили новые дома, стены, мосты. Вскоре в городе появились дворец, замок и несколько церквей.

3. Now Oxford is a big city. It has got a lot of old and very beautiful houses. There are many interesting museums, parks and gardens in the city. Tourists from many countries of the world come to Oxford to see it. The city has got a lot of hotels for tourists. There are many shops where visitors buy souvenirs. The centre of Oxford is a very green place. Visitors love walking in the narrow old streets. Many people travel in the city by bicycle. Some like to see Oxford from the bus.
