Hi, I’m Lena. My parents, my younger brother and I went to Britain by plane. We were going to visit Wales and Scotland and we wanted to stay in London for a week. We got to the capital of the UK late in the evening and travelled to our hotel by taxi. I couldn’t see much from the taxi window but I understood that London was very big and very green. Our hotel was in the centre not far from Trafalgar Square. We were tired but we decided to have a walk. Very soon we were in the geographical centre of London. We saw the famous monument to Admiral Nelson, Nelson’s Column, the fountains and the National Gallery. But we couldn’t see the paintings. The gallery didn’t work at night. We went down Whitehall and saw the Houses of Parliament and the famous clock Big Ben. We decided to visit St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower in the morning.
