Situation: Your family and your friend’s family are travelling by train to another city. You are sitting next to your friend and you are chatting about travelling.
Student 1
I enjoy travelling. It doesntaskt matter much if it’s by train, by plane, or by bus. / I like travelling by train, by plane and by bus.
Ask your friend whether he / she likes travelling.
Answer the question.
Ask where your friend would like to go on holiday
Answer the questions.
Suggest having a hiking holiday in the summer.
React to your friend’s ‘yes’ or ‘no’. (Say that you are glad that he / she will join the hiking party or that you are sorry he / she won’t.
Student 2
Answer the question. Say that you also enjoy cycling.
Ask your friend whether he / she has ever taken part in a cycling trip.
Answer the question. Find out what places of interest he / she would like to see and why.
Agree or disagree with your friend’s suggestion. Explain why you would like to take part in the hiking trip or why you do not want to take part in it.
