Hi, Melissa,
How are you? I know you had a high temperature. Are you still in bed? I hope you are much better now.
Let me tell you some news. Yesterday,
I went to the cinema. I saw the film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobetask. I liked it very much. I think you should see it, too! I am going to give you a short review.
During the Second World War, four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy came from London to the country house of their mother’s relative. He lived in a very large house with a strict housekeeper.
One day the children were playing hide-and-seek. Lucy discovered an old wardrobe. She opened the doors and came into it. Suddenly she found herself in a fantasy world called Narnia. She spent a few hours in the house of the faun, Mr Tumnus. They had tea and cakes. He explained to Lucy that the White Witch had conquered Narnia and winter had lasted for one hundred years there. Any adult or child who came to Narnia had to visit the White Witchtasks castle. Mr Tumnus liked Lucy very much. They became friends. He couldntaskt take her to the White Witchtasks castle, so he sent her home.
When she got back, only a few minutes had passed in the normal world. She told her brothers and sister about her thrilling adventure. But Peter, Edmund and Susan didntaskt believe her story. When they checked the wardrobe, they saw just a normal wooden back there.
A few days later, Lucy entered the wardrobe again. Edmund followed her and met the White Witch in the fantasy world. She offered him delicious sweets called Turkish Delight. She also said to him, ‘If you bring your brother and sisters to my castle, you will become the King of Narnia.’
Another day, while running away from the housekeeper after breaking a window, the four children ran into the wardrobe. Suddenly they realised that they had entered Narnia.
That was how their adventures began...
Melissa, it is an interesting story, isntaskt it? I suggest you read the book first and then watch the film. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobetask is a book which is worth reading and a film which is also worth watching.
The day after tomorrow, I’ll bring you the book to read.
See you soon.
Best wishes,
Liza
