Mount Elbrus is a real natural wonder of Russia. Elbrus is located in the south of Russia. It is 5,642 metres high and it is the highest mountain in the country. It’s also the tenth highest mountain in the world. Many years ago Elbrus was a volcano. The mountain, with its unique scenary, attracts lots of tourists and climbers. There are several climbing routes up Elbrus. The standard route is long but not very difficult. The biggest danger is the weather which is very changeable. The best time for visiting the mountain is summer. There is also a cable car system that takes people as high as 3,750 meters. The region is famous for its wonderful sights, ski resorts and the National Park.
