This is an e-mail letter from Ann Doolittle, an English girl, to her Russian pen friends.

Dear friends,

I am writing to you from England. My name is Ann Doolittle and I am thirteen years old. My family lives in the centre of London. I have two brothers and a sister. We all go to a state secondary school near Regent’s Park.

Our school is rather old, with interesting traditions. There are a lot of pupils in it. I do eleven subjects: English, mathematics, two foreign languages: French and German, science, art and some more. We get religious education too. We go to school five days a week. On Saturday and Sunday we are free. We have four lessons in the morning and two more lessons after our lunch break. Classes are over at four. I take a bus and go home.

We must wear a uniform to school. The uniform is a dark skirt, a grey jacket, a white blouse and a red tie. I like my uniform very much.

My hobbies are swimming and travelling. I’d like to visit Moscow one day and meet Russian boys and girls.

Наша школа довольно старая с интересными традициями. В ней много учеников. У меня 11 предметов: английский, математика, два иностранных языка: французский и немецкий, естественные науки, ИЗО итд. У нас также есть религиозное образование. Мы ходим в школу 5 дней в неделю. В субботу и воскресенье мы свободны. У нас 4 урока утром и 2 урока после обеда. Уроки заканчиваются в 4 часа. Я сажусь на автобус и еду домой.

Мы должны носить форму в школу. Форма это темная юбка, серая кофта, белая блузка и красный галстук. Мне очень нравится наша форма.

Мои хобби это плавание и путешествия. Я бы хотела посетить Москву и встретиться с русским парнями и девушками.
