Текст аудирования:
(T = Teacher, MS = Mr Saunders, В = Boy)
T: Good morning everyone! This is Mr Saunders and he’s going to talk to us today about storm safety...
MS: Good morning! Well, I know a bit about lightning because it struck me last year while I was walking my dog in the park. Fortunately I survived, but look at my trainers - they melted!...
Anyway, did you know that lightning kills about three people in Britain every year?
That means your chances of being killed by lightning are only about one in 19 million! So, not very much ...but anyway, I’m going to give you some advice ...
The first thing to remember is to move quickly away from any trees. Don’t stand out in the garden to watch the storm! If you’re in an open place, get down immediately and cover your head like this, see? If you’re with other people, you should all move apart. Don’t stay together!
Then, count the time between the lightning and thunder, and wait patiently for the storm to pass. If you can count 30 seconds, then you’re safe. But if you can’t count 30 seconds, the storm is dangerously close.
Oh, and don’t use a computer during a storm! Lightning travels easily through cables, so don’t use any electrical equipment, OK?
Well, they’re the basic rules. Has anyone got any questions?
B: Did you go to hospital when you got struck by lightning?
MS: Yeah, I did –I stayed in hospital for a couple of days. But I was OK in the end!...
