(Grandad = G, Harry = H)
G Hello Harry, what’s that?
H Its a Nintendo DS, Grandad.
G Oh ... is that a computer?
H No, its a games console.
G Lets have a look. Goodness! We didn’t have games like this when I was a boy!
H Yeah, I know. Games are better these days, grandad. Everything is more modern.
G Well I’m not sure about that Harry. More modem ... yes. But not necessarily better.
H What do you mean?
G Everything is more expensive now. How much do those things cost?
H About a hundred pounds.
G How much?! You shouldn’t spend so much money on a game. It isn’t right.
H Oh grandad. Everybody’s got one. Anyway, you should get one!
G [laughs] I prefer more traditional games like chess or draughts.
H Can you play chess then?
G Yes, I was the school champion.
H Let’s have a game then.
G Oh ..er.... I haven’t got a chess set.
H That’s OK. I’ve got one.
G Oh ... ehm .... I can’t play now .... I can’t find my glasses.
H You’re wearing them!
G Oh! Is that the time. I have to hurry ... see you later Harry...
