The Three Rs
If you want to do more to help the environment, you need to think about the three Rs. They stand for Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. (1) There are lots of things you can do. Here are a few.
REDUCE
The first thing you (2) should try to do at home is to reduce the amount of waste that you and your family produce. Reducing begins at the supermarket.
You should only buy what you need. You (3) shouldn’t buy extra things.
REUSE
You can reuse (4) a lot of the things that you have at home. If you have a lot of old carrier bags, you can reuse them as (5) rubbish bags. You can use old jars as containers to keep things like jewellery or pencils in. If you use your imagination, (6) you’ll think of lots of things that you can reuse.
RECYCLE
Buy four bins for the house. Use each one for a different (7) material: organic waste, paper and cardboard, tins and plastic containers, and glass. (8) If you start being organized at home, you will soon (9) become an expert recycler!

Текст аудирования:
In the USA, people throw away around 20 million old computers every year. The numbers are high in Europe too. Electronic rubbish, including old computers and computer parts, is called e-waste. E-waste, especially computers, contains dangerous chemicals. Governments and ecological groups are very worried about the effects that this new kind of pollution will have on the world.
If you have got a new computer and you don’t need your old one, don’t throw it in the bin! Think carefully about what you want to do with your computer and consider these points:
If your computer works OK, you will be able to sell it on the Internet.
If you sell your computer, you will have to pay transport costs.
If you send your computer back to the manufacturer, they will pay for the transport costs.
If you give your computer to a charity, check that they will collect it from your home.
So ... remember! Don’t just throw your old computer in the bin. Be sensible ... and think of the environment!
