My parents, my younger brother and I went to Britain by plane. We were going to visit Wales and Scotland and we wanted to stay in London for a week. We got to London late in the evening and travelled to our hotel by taxi. I couldn’t see much from the taxi window but I understood that London was very big and very green. There were a lot of trees in the streets. Our hotel was in the centre not far from Trafalgar Square. We were tired but we decided to make a walking tour of the place near the hotel. We were in Trafalgar Square very soon. We saw the famous monument to Admiral Nelson and the National Gallery. But we couldn’t see the pictures. The gallery didn’ t work at night. We went down Whitehall and saw the Houses of Parliament and the famous clock Big Ben. We didn’t go to Westminster Abbey but decided to visit it in the morning. We came back to our hotel at midnight.

На улицах было много деревьев. Наш отель был в центре, недалеко от Трафалгарской площади. Мы устали, но мы решили прогуляться рядом с отелем. Мы вскоре были на Трафалгарской площади. Мы видели известный памятник адмиралу Нельсону и Национальную галерею. Но мы не видели картин. Галерея не работала ночью. Мы спустились на Уайтхол и увидели Здание парламента и известные часы Биг Бен. Мы не пошли до Вестминстерского Аббатства, а решили посетить его утром. Мы вернулись в наш отель в полночь.
