a) Когда Фаринорсы были на улице, они увидели, что дом их соседей тоже горел. Огонь был жарким, люди не могли его потушить, но у них было время, чтобы покинуть свои дома. Они взяли с собой многие вещи. Некоторые использовали лодки и смотрели на пожар с реки.

b) 3 сентября 1666 пожар начался в Лондоне. Он разрушил 80% города, но не много людей погибло. Кроме того, пожар помог людям, которые тогда жили в Лондоне. Он убил много крыс.

c) Пожар продлился на 4 дня и ночи. Утром в среду он чуть-чуть успокоился. Люди начали тушить его водой.

d) Пожар начался в доме и магазине Томаса Фаринора, который был пекарем Карла 2. Томас проснулся 3 сентября в час ночи и увидел, что его дом горит. Его семья выбралась из дома через крышу.

e) После пожара у 200,000 людей не было домов. Работники со всей Британии и других стран приехали, чтобы помочь построить новые дома и церкви. Они делали их из камня. К 1700 Лондон стал самым большим городом Европы.

The Fire of London

a) When the Farynors were in the street, they saw that their neighbour’s house was on fire too. The fire was very hot and the people could not fight it but they had time to leave their homes. They took a lot of things with them. Some people used riverboats, and watched the fire from the river.

b) On 3rd September 1666 a fire started in the city of London. It destroyed 80% of the city but few people died. In fact the fire helped the people who were living in London then. It killed a lot of rats.

c) The fire burnt for four nights and days. On Wednesday morning it became less hot. The people began to fight with water.

d) The fire started in the house and shop of Thomas Farynor who was a baker to King Charles

II. Thomas got up at 1 a.m. on the 3rd September and saw that his house was on fire. His family got out of the house through [9ru:] the roof.

e) After the fire 200,000 people of London didn’t have homes. Workers came from all over Britain and from other countries to help build new houses and new churches. They made them of stone. By 1700London became the largest city in Europe.
