A. One day Mr Parker decided 1) to visit his brother. David 2) lived in the country. That day 3) was his birthday and Mr Parker 4) wanted to be with his brother’s family. Mr Parker 5) took his brother’s address, 6) got into the car and 7) Started out. He 8) drove for a long time. Then he 9) Stopped and 10) asked the woman who 11) was passing by to help him. “12) Go straight for two miles”, she 13) said, “then 14) turn left and take the second road on the right”. Mr Parker 15) did it but 16) could not see his brother’s house. Then he 17) saw that an old man 18) was coming to his car. Mr Parker 19) opened the window of his car and 20) asked, “Excuse me, is this the second road on the right?”

B. Last Saturday I 1) went to the shop and 2) bought a present for my grandad. He was going 3) to be sixty-five on Sunday. My parents and I 4) decided to celebrate that day in a restaurant. Early in the morning we 5) gathered in our sitting room, 6) decorated it with flowers, postcards and balloons. Then we 7) wrote a special greeting card as a symbol of our love, 8) caught a taxi and 9) came to the restaurant at six p.m. Our table 10) was in a small cosy room.
