water polo(водное поло), exciting(захватывающий), a referee(судья), to bite a forward (укусить нападающего), a team(команда), to satisfy (удовлетворить).

Это произошло в Австралии, во время игры в водное поло. Это было одно из главных спортивных событий сезона. В начале игры не было ничего интересного; но внезапно один из игроков выскочил из воды и побежал к рефери. Он сказал: «Один из форвардов другой команды укусил меня в ногу, пока я плавал под водой».

Сначала судья подумал, что это просто шутка. Но когда игрок указал на кровь на ноге, ему пришлось поверить, что это серьезно. Он позвал нападающего и спросил, почему он сделал такую странную вещь. Форвард сказал: «Я никого не кусал». Но судья заставил его покинуть игру.

Они опять начали играть, но через несколько минут два игрока, по одному из каждой команды, выскочили из воды. Их укусили. На ногах обоих игроков была кровь. Игра была остановлена, и они начали спускать воду из бассейна. Когда вся вода была спущена, все увидели молодого крокодила у основания бассейна.

Кто-то положил крокодила в бассейн, но зачем?

b) Скажите, кто мог положить молодого крокодила в бассейн и почему.

c) Прочитайте конец истории и выясните, были ли вы правы.

Истина стала известна, когда игроки вернулись в свою раздевалку после игры и нашли там письмо.

«Я много лет являюсь фанатом водного поло», - писал один из фанатов, и мне не нравится, что игра становится медленной и неинтересной, и я решил заставить игроков двигаться быстрее. Я не думаю, что смогу сделать это хорошо сам, и я решил, что мой крокодил сделает это лучше. »

This happened in Australia, during a water polo game. It was one of the main sports events of the season. There was nothing exciting at the beginning of the game; but suddenly one of the players jumped out of the water and ran to the referee. He said: “One of the forwards of the other team bit me in the leg while I was swimming under the water.”

At first the referee thought that it was just a joke. But when the player pointed to the blood on his leg, he had to believe that it was serious. He called the forward and asked him why he had done such a strange thing. The forward said, “I didn’t bite anybody.” But the referee made him leave the game.

They began again, but a few minutes later two players, one from each team, jumped out of the water. They were bitten. There was blood on both players’ legs. The game was stopped, and they began to let the water out of the pool. When all the water was let out, everybody saw a young crocodile at the bottom of the pool.

Somebody had put the crocodile into the pool, but why?

b) Say who could put the young crocodile in the pool and why.

c) Read the end of the story and find out if you were right.

The truth became known when the players returned back to their dressing room after the game and found a letter there.

“I have been a water-polo fan for many years”, one of the fans wrote and I don’t like that the game becomes slow and uninteresting, and I have decided to make the players move faster. I don’t think I can do this well myself, and I have decided that my crocodile will do it better. ”
