Зимняя Олимпиада в Сочи прошла с большим успехом. Также она внесла свой вклад и в развитие олимпийского волонтерства. Было доступно 25 000 мест для волонтеров. Организационному комитету игр требовалось 12 000 волонтеров общего профиля, 8 000 специалистов, работающих в конкретных отраслях, и 5000 волонтеров-спортсменов. Во время игр в Сочи было задействовано 25 000 волонтеров по более чем 20 направлениям деятельности – от встречи делегаций в аэропорту до помощи в организации церемонии закрытия. Впервые в истории Олимпийских игр волонтеры были набраны и обучены в 26 волонтерских центрах по всей стране. Люди со всей России могли стать частью истории Олимпийских и Паралимпийских игр, в каком бы уголке России они ни жили!

The Winter Olympics in Sochi was a great success. It has also made its contribution to the growth of Olympic volunteering. There were ¬25,000 volunteer places available. The Organising Committee for the Games needed 12.000 general volunteers, 8,000 specialists working in particular sectors, and 5,000 volunteer athletes. 25.000 volunteers were involved during the Games in Sochi in more than 20 areas of activity, from meeting delegations at the airport to helping organize the Closing Ceremony. For the first time in the history of the Games volunteers were recruited and trained at 26 Volunteer Centres throughout the country. People from all over Russia were able to become part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games history, no matter which corner of Russia they came from!
