Вчера в Лондоне открылась выставка “Идеальный дом 1956 года”. Пожалуй, самой интересной экспозицией является “Дом будущего” - видение жизни в конце двадцатого века. Все стены внутри и снаружи дома пластиковые. Внутри дома есть экзотический сад. У публики также есть шанс увидеть гаджеты из будущего. Есть пульт управления светом и огромный телевизор (у него двенадцати дюймовый экран!) Есть приспособление, которое очищает ванну каждый раз, когда вы ей пользуетесь. Специальная кнопка скрывает столы в полу, когда вы ими не пользуетесь. Многие люди уже задаются вопросом, как купить дом будущего. К сожалению, их строительство не планируется!

Умный дом

А. Это “умный” дом, 1) где технологии контролируют практически все и делают повседневную жизнь намного проще. Снаружи он выглядит как средний особняк - мебель, телевизор и холодильник такие же, как в любом другом доме. Но этот дом полон сюрпризов.

В. В умном доме много новшеств. Компьютер управляет отоплением и освещением. Если вы на работе и компьютер определяет, что в доме недостаточно тепла, он включает отопление. Он может приготовить вам кофе, пока вы смотрите любимую телепрограмму. Камеры, 2) которые есть в каждой спальне, позволяют следить за детьми наверху, когда вы находитесь в саду или даже в офисе. Дом даже знает, что у вас в холодильнике, и может составить для вас список покупок.

С. Компьютер работает и вне дома. Когда вы приходите из супермаркета домой, камера над дверью “видит” ваши тяжелые сумки с покупками и открывает вам дверь. Вы можете видеть любого, 3) кто подходит к вашей двери, не вставая с кресла. Камеры подключены к Интернету, так что вы даже можете проверить, что происходит за пределами вашего дома, когда вы на работе или в отпуске - просто проверьте специальную веб-страницу дома. Компьютер может даже автоматически поливать сад, когда он слишком сухой.

D. Видение будущего? Нет, такие дома сейчас строят компании. А для кого эти дома? Компании считают, что эти дома идеально подходят для занятых людей, 4) работа которых требует много путешествий. Но есть одна маленькая проблема - такой дом стоит более 700 000 фунтов стерлингов!

All the walls inside and outside the house are plastic. There is an exotic garden inside the house. The public also have a chance to see some gadgets from the future. There is a remote control for the lights and the enormous television set (it has a twelve-inch screen!) There is a gadget which cleans the bath every time you use it. A special button hides the tables in the floor when you are not using them. Many people are already asking how they can buy a house of the future. Unfortunately, there are no plans to build them!

The Intelligent House

This is the ‘intelligent’ house where technology controls nearly everything and makes everyday life much easier. From the outside it looks like an average detached house — the furniture, TV and fridge are the same as in any other home. But this house is full of surprises.

The intelligent house has many innovations. A computer controls the heating and the lighting. If you’re at work and the computer decides the house isn’t warm enough, it switches on the heating. It can prepare coffee for you as you’re watching your favourite TV programme. Cameras, which are in every bedroom, keep an eye on the children upstairs when you are in the garden or even at the office. The house even knows what is in your fridge and can make a shopping list for you.

The computer works outside the house, too. When you come home from the supermarket, a camera above the door ‘sees’ your heavy bags of shopping and opens the door for you. You can see anybody that comes to your door without leaving your armchair. The cameras are linked to the Internet so you can even check what is going on outside your house when you’re at work or on holiday — just check the house’s special web page. The computer can even automatically water the garden when it’s too dry.

A vision of the future? No — companies are building houses like this at the moment. And who are these houses for? The companies believe these houses are ideal for busy people whose jobs require a lot of travel. But there is one small problem — a house like this costs over 700,000!
