Мы используем Present Simple для

- фактов, которые всегда верны: The sun rises in the east. (Солнце встает на востоке.)

- рутины и привычек: I often walk to school. (Я часто хожу в школу пешком.)

Наречия, например, always (всегда), sometimes (иногда), often (часто), never (никогда), показывают частоту действия.

Правописание окончания s третьего лица

- К большинству глаголов добавьте s:

I smile -> she smiles (я улыбаюсь -> она улыбается)

- После -s, -x, -z, -ch, -sh, -go и -do добавьте es:

we watch -> he watches (мы смотрим -> он смотрит)

they go -> it goes (они идут -> оно идет)

- После согласного + y измените у на i, добавьте es:

you fly -> it flies (ты летишь -> оно летит)

- После гласного + y добавьте s:

Мы используем Present Continuous для

- временных ситуаций: I'm working in Paris at the moment. (В данный момент я работаю в Париже.)

- изменяющихся ситуаций: My English is getting better. (Мой английский становится лучше.)

- вещей, которые происходят сейчас: I'm reading a book. (Я читаю книгу.)

Временные выражения типа now (сейчас), these days (в эти дни), at the moment (в настоящий момент) показывают, что действие происходит сейчас или примерно сейчас.

Правописание

- После большинства глаголов добавьте -ing:

go (идти) -> going, sleep (спать) -> sleep

- После одной гласной + одной согласной удвойте согласную и добавьте -ing:

sit (сидеть) -> sitting

- С глаголами, оканчивающимися на согласную + e, уберите e и добавьте -ing:

leave (уходить/оставлять) -> leaving

- С глаголами, оканчивающимися на ie, замените ie на у и добавьте -ing:

We use the Present Continuous for

temporary situations: I’m working in Paris at the moment.

changing situations: My English is getting better.

things which are happening now: I’m reading a book.

Time expressions like now, these days, at the moment show the activity is happening now or around now.

Spelling

After most verbs, add -ing:

go —> going, sleep -> sleeping

After one vowel + one consonant, double the consonant and add -ing:

sit —> sitting

Verbs ending with consonant + e, remove the e and add -ing:

leave —> leaving

Verbs ending with ie, change ie to у and add -ing:

die —> dying
