Ian’s Grandmother's Perspective:

I’m so happy for Ian! He and Monica have decided to get married, and I think it’s wonderful news. He’s already bought a ring for her, and they are very much in love. Of course, some people think it’s too soon, but I remember when Ian’s parents got married – they were the same age, and they didn’t have much money either! Young love is beautiful, and I believe they will figure things out together. I just hope everyone supports them and lets them follow their hearts.

I can’t believe Ian is getting married! He only met Monica five months ago, and she hasn’t even finished college yet. He’s just started his first job – how can he afford a wedding? I think this is a crazy decision. He’s too young, and they should wait until they are more settled. Marriage is a big step, and I don’t think they are ready for it. I just hope he’s thought this through carefully because it’s not something you can take lightly.

Norm and Jean Sell have been married for almost 50 years, and their love is still strong. They first met in 1953 when Norm was a policeman and Jean was a waitress. It was love at first sight! They got married on Valentine’s Day in 1956 and have lived in Stretford since then.

Their secret to a happy marriage is always falling in love with the same person again and again. They have had small arguments but no serious fights since 1977. Their rule is to never go to bed angry. Norm only regrets not marrying Jean earlier, and Jean has never regretted a single day.
