P: Hello and welcome to ‘Talk about it!’. In tonight’s programme wetaskre going to talk about crime - your experiences of crime right here in the capital! So if you’ve been a victim of crime - or if youtaskve witnessed a crime - call us on 0800234567 and tell us all about it! Now, our first caller this evening is Vicky. Hello Vicky?
V: Hi!
P: What happened to you, Vicky?
V: Yeah, well I was celebrating my birthday with some friends at a restaurant. I sat down - our table was next to the door - I sat down and I put my bag down under the table.
P: Oh no, and did someone steal your bag?
V: Well, not exactly - when I picked up my bag, my mobile phone was missing!
P: Just your mobile phone?
V: Yeah, fortunately I had my money in my jacket pocket. I only had my mobile phone and some make-up in my bag.
P: That was lucky. So what did you do?
V: Well, first I told the manager at the restaurant. He was looking for it everywhere but he didn’t find it, so then I called the police when I got home. But they never found it.
P: Hmm, so there’s a tip - never leave your bag under the table or on the back of your chair! Thanks Vicky.
V: Cheers, bye.
P: Right, our next caller is Richard. Hello?
R: Hiya!
P: Now, there was a crime at your school, is that right?
R: Yeah, that’s right. Some vandals got into the school building last weekend.
P: How did they get in, do you know?
R: I think they broke a window ...
P: Right, and so then what happened?
R: Well, school was closed on Monday because the police were there. And then yesterday we didn’t have our normal classes because the vandals destroyed loads of stuff - they smashed all the computers in the computer room ...
P: Oh no! And did they catch the vandals, do you know?
R: Yeah, I think so. It was a group of boys - the police found loads of fingerprints.
P: Well thattasks good. Hope your school’s back to normal soon!
R: Yeah, thanks. Bye!
P: OK, remember, if you’ve got a story to tell, call us on 0800234567. Now, here’s a song to cheer us up ...
