Paul David Hewson, known under the pseudonym Bono, was born on May 10, 1960 in Dublin. He is a well-known Irish author-performer, musician and philanthropist. The leader of the rock band U2. He has many awards: the Order of the Legion of Honor of the Cavalier degree, the Order of Freedom of the officer degree, the Order of Arts and Literature of the Commander degree and others.

Bono sings in the band U2. In addition, Bono is actively engaged in public and charitable activities. He pays special attention to the fight against AIDS and support for the poorest countries in Africa.

Bono now lives with his family in Killiney in the south of Dublin. In 2022, the band leader Bono published a book of memoirs, Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.
