In the same year, Audrey Hepburn, then a young actress (3) was planning her wedding to a young London playboy called James Hanson. She already (4) had already played the leading part in a Hollywood musical and (5) was making her film debut in “Roman Holiday”. While filming in Rome the actress (6) ordered a wedding dress in a famous Fontana fashion house. It was a glorious dress (7) made of white lace with a flowing train.

At last the dress was practically ready and Audrey (8) had to go to the designer for the final fitting... but two weeks before the wedding Audrey (9) called it off.

She (10) did not keep the dress and (11) did not sell it. Instead she (12) phoned Fontana and said, “I want my dress (13) to be worn by another girl, someone who (14) will not be able to afford a dress like mine the most beautiful Italian girl you can (15) find”

The three Fontana sisters had to find a girl, poor, young, pretty and pencil-slim like Audrey. It (16) took them some time before they (17) found Amabile Altobello in a poor town of Latina. The people of Latina (20) were so excited that the town (21) gave Amabile kitchen furniture and (22) organized a honeymoon in Paris. “It was a dream come true,” she said.
