grew up in a poor family in Boston, USA, and was one of four daughters. She is best known for her childrentasks books, especially Little Women (1868-1869). The novel reflects L M Alcotttasks life and experiences. It is about the loves and lives of four young sisters growing up in New England during the American Civil War. The four March sisters, Meg, Jo. Beth and Amy, work hard with their mother to have a happy and peaceful home while their father is away at war.
