Приведем выдержку из задания из учебника Юлия Ваулина, Джунни Дули 10 класс, Просвещение:
1a Read the following opinion essay and list the viewpoints and reasons/examples.
As more and more students consider mobile phones, laptop computers and other electronic devices a major part of their daily lives, these gadgets are appearing in schools more frequently. Now MP3 players have become another such youth accessory. While I believe that it is the right of students to own such gadgets, I am concerned about their use in the classroom.
Firstly, the classroom is for learning. Students should pay attention to what the teacher is saying and they cannot possibly do this if they are listening to music on their MP3 players. Moreover, the classroom should not be used as a place for students to show off their possessions. Furthermore, some students use their MP3 players to record lessons. For example, students can listen to classes at home; this gives some students an excuse not to pay attention during class.
On the other hand, some people believe that teachers and students could look at ways of using MP3 players in a positive way. Teachers could give students recordings of poetry or literature for them to listen to. Similarly, they could be used to help students improve their foreign language listening skills.
In conclusion, I strongly believe MP3 players should be banned from the classroom. They are an unnecessary distraction and encourage students not to pay attention in class even though they may have some positive uses.
