Another Ecological Problem

Our Sun produces a lot of ultraviolet (3) radiation. Too much of it is (4) dangerous; but between 15 or 50kilometres above the Earth there is a layer of a gas called ozone. This ozone layer gives (5) protection to the Earth from the sun. But if you make a hole in the ozone layer, the danger of radioactivity increases. The Earth (6) population produces many gases which go high into the air and destroy the ozone layer. In 1984 a hole in the ozone layer was discovered. It is believed that the (7) appearance of that hole influences life in the (8) western part of South America. For example, many sheep in Chile, under this hole, now have eye problems.
