"Молодая женщина живет в отдаленной области страны... и не имеет никакого другого удовольствия, никакого другого эстетического развлечения в зимние дни, которые изолируют ее от целого мира, как видеть свое нежное, молодое лицо в зеркале и наблюдать за игрой своих голых рук и ладоней с гребенкой.... Ее лицо и все остальное на картине молодое и свежее. Нет следа модернистской утонченности. Но простая, реальная атмосфера, освещенная молодостью, радостна и прекрасна."

The picture produces on me the magical effect, I really liked it! This is a candid and charming, beguiling portrait. The lightness of the colours, the contrast and the surrounding items all engage the attention as does the intimacy and immediacy of the artist herself. The sweep of the hair which extends from the mirror behind adds to the energy and sense of novelty in the portrait. This portrait was painted in 1909 and is remarkable for the dynamism of its composition;

Картина произвела на меня магический эффект, мне она действительно понравилась! Это откровенный, очаровательный и соблазнительный портрет. Легкость цвета, контраст и окружающая обстановка, все это привлекает внимание, как и интимность, и непосредственность самой художницы. Взмах волос, которые простираются до зеркала сзади, добавляют энергии и ощущения новизны в портрете. Этот портрет был написан в 1909 году, и он замечателен динамикой своей композиции.
