David: Hello, can I speak to Daniel?
Mrs Sanderson: Oh, Itaskm afraid hetasks not in at the moment. Whotasks speaking?
David: Ittasks David... from England.
Mrs Sanderson: Oh, hello David. Ittasks nice to hear from you, dear. This is Danieltasks mother.
David: Hello, Mrs Sanderson. When will Daniel be back?
Mrs Sanderson: Itaskm not sure. Hetasks just gone out. Hetaskll be playing tennis from 10 a.m. until 12 a.m.
David: And how about the same time tomorrow?
Mrs Sanderson: Tomorrowtasks Monday and Daniel will be working.
David: Really? But hetasks on his gap year. I thought he was just at home on a short break from his traverls round the world!
Mrs Sanderson: Well, he did go travelling. But he ran out of money so quickly that he had to find a job.
David: What does he do?
Mrs Sanderson: He works for a local employment agency.
David: Thattasks amazing. With no work experience it must have been hard to find a job.
Mrs Sanderson: Well, yes and no. At first Daniel found work as a lifeguard at the local beach just round the corner. It was easy and the pay wasntaskt too bad. But Daniel spent so much time chatting with his friends that his boss fired him just a week later. Then Daniel decided to look for a real job,
where hetaskd be able to learn something. He sent about thirty applications and went through five interviews until this company hired him.
David: And what are his responsibilities?
Mrs Sanderson: He started with photocopying and writing his bosstasks
e-mails, and the salary he got was really small, but hetasks so good that hetasks already been promoted twice. So now hetasks responsible for finding part-time jobs for both retired people and people with no experience. And he got a pay rise.
David: Itaskm afraid it will be difficult to catch Daniel at home then.
Mrs Sanderson: I have an idea. This afternoon Daniel will be babysitting his sister, so you can phone him then.
David: All right, Itaskll phone him at about two otaskclock.
Mrs Sanderson: Great, Itaskll let him know and hetaskll be expecting your call.
David: Wait a second, Mrs Sanderson... I completely forgot
about the time difference. Ittaskll be 4 a.m. in Britain. Itaskll be sleeping. How about the same time next Sunday? Will he be at home?
Mrs Sanderson: Oh, this time next Sunday hetaskll be flying to London.
David: What? Is Daniel coming to London?
Mrs Sanderson: Oh, my God! I shouldntaskt have told you that. It was supposed to be a surprise for you.
David: Well, now that youtaskve told me, let me meet him at the airport. Itaskll be picking up my girlfriend Lisa, anyway.
Mrs Sanderson: Daniel told me she visited you in April.
David: Yes, and now shetasks coming again for her summer holidays. Shetasks just got into Moscow State University and shetasks extremely proud of herself.
Mrs Sanderson: Well, Itaskll tell Daniel that Lisatasks coming too. Hetaskll be looking forward to seeing her.
David: Yes, and Lisa will be dying to hear Danieltasks news, too.
Mrs Sanderson: It was great talking to you, David. Itaskll send you the flight number.
David: Thank you, Mrs Sanderson. I cantaski believe that this time next Sunday, Itaskll be talking to Daniel in person!
