2 T040 Listen to Maria talking about the bar chart and the graph. Note the four mistakes she makes.
Текст аудирования:
Well, first of all, the bar chart shows us that the number of households with a telephone fell slightly between 1999 and 2005, whereas … um … the number of mobile phones nearly doubled. And it also shows us that the number of CD players rose by nearly 20 percent. Then … then we can see that five times more households had an Internet connection in 2005 than in 1999, and there was a similar increase in the number of home computers. Um … the graph tells us that between 2000 and 2002 there was a significant rise in the percentage of people who used the Internet, while between 2002 and 2005 the number stayed the same. Then … well … we can see that more than half the adult population used the Internet in 2005, compared with a small minority in 2000.

Maria: Well, first of all, the bar chart shows us that the number of households with a telephone fell slightly between 1999 and 2005, whereas … um … the number of mobile phones nearly doubled — I mean tripled. And it also shows us that the number of CD players rose by nearly 20 percent. Then … then we can see that five times more households had an Internet connection in 2005 than in 1999, and there was a similar increase in the number of home computers — oh no, that’s wrong … about twice as many households had home computers. Um … the graph tells us that between 2000 and 2002 there was a significant rise in the percentage of people who used the Internet, while between 2002 and 2005 the number stayed the same — oh no, oh, no it didn’t … um … it increased gradually. Then, well … we can see that more than half the adult population used the Internet in 2005, compared with a small minority in 2000 — oh, no it’s more than that … it’s less than half.
