Текст аудирования:
Mops: Oh, Peter, we did it! Freedom at last! I still can’t believe it! I don’t think I could have stood another day of being stared at and poked and prodded by all those people …
Peter: I know, I know … It was such a stroke of luck that they left the back door open, I mean, I didn’t like having to bite that child’s finger, but I was terrified that he was going to take us home with him, and it was just too good a chance to miss!
Mops: Absolutely! OK, where do we go now? There isn’t much grass here …
Peter: No, that’s because we’re still in the town — this is what they call a garden. But we’d better hide here for a while, until it gets dark and then we’ll be able to … So we need to get to the top of that hill, and one of my cousins will be there waiting for us, to take us to his burrow … But first we need to cross here … Mops! Not until I say!
Mops: What was that? It nearly killed me!
Peter: I’ve no idea, but let’s not bother about crossing or another one might attack us. Come on, run as fast as you can up to the top! Here we are — look, we’re nearly in the countryside, I can see fields over there, and …
Mops: But can you see your cousin? He could be anywhere up here, it’s a huge area — where exactly did you arrange to meet? You did arrange somewhere, didn’t you?
Peter: Well, I … er … more or less … I think we said somewhere near here …
Mops: ‘Somewhere’! That’s not exactly very specific, is it? Oh, I should have known it wasn’t a good idea to let you arrange this. I bet you forgot to get a message to your cousin … Now we’ll never get to the farm, and I’ll never see my family …
Benjamin: Ah! You must be Mops — Benjamin — delighted to meet you.
Peter: This is my cousin, Mops.
Mops: Oh, well, I’m very pleased to meet you, too — it’s very kind of you to … I’m sorry, I was feeling a little bit anxious, silly of me really …
Benjamin: Don’t worry, it must have been very frightening for you, I do understand. Look, what about a snack before we go on — I brought a few carrots.
Mops: Oh, fantastic! I’m starving! So, how long do you think it’ll take us to get to the farm? I can’t wait to see my family, can you, Peter? Peter? Hey, don’t you want a carrot? Why are you sitting over there? What’s the matter? Peter?
8 T052 Listen again and answer the questions.
1 How does Peter make it possible for him and Mops to escape?
2 Why does he suggest that they hide in the garden for a while?
3 What terrifies Mops as they are going up the hill?
4 Why does Mops get annoyed with Peter at the top of the hill?
5 Why doesntaskt Peter join in and share the carrots with Mops?
