The Bennington Triangle
You may have heard of the Bermuda Triangle, but do you know about the Bennington Triangle? Bennington is a 1) settlement in Vermont, USA. Between 1920 and 1950 Bennington hit the headlines due to a number of unexplained 2) disappearances. In 1949, for example, a man called James Tetford was on a bus near Bennington. There were 14 other passengers on the bus at the time. Later they all told 3) investigators that they had seen Telford asleep in his seat. However, when the bus reached Bennington, there was no sign of hirn. Where could Tetford have gone? To this day, nobody knows.
Equally 4) mysterious is the story of 18 year old Paula Weldon. In 1946 she went walking in the countryside near Bennington. Another couple walking just behind Weldon remembered seeing her go round a bend in the path. But when they went round the same bend, the girl had vanished. Despite 5) carefully examining a wide area, the police never found any sign of Weldon or any 6) evidence which could explain what happened to her.
