horrible, musty, loud, moaning, cold, terrible, transparent, hooded, scared, ghastly, vague, nasty, weird - all the adjectives make the story more colourful and attractive, etc.(ужасный, затхлый, громкий, стонущий, холодный, ужасный, прозрачный, в капюшоне, страшный, ужасный, расплывчатый, противный, необычный - все прилагательные делают историю более красочной и привлекательной, и т.д)

волосы встали дыбом = it made my hair stand on end
