A JOB ADVISER FINDS A SUITABLE JOB
Nigel Thornton, a 24-year-old job adviser in Greenbaum in Partnership
was so keen to help one of his clients find work that he gave 2 very
him his own clothes to go to an interview. It caused great
amazement in the office when Nigel handed over his smart suit,
shirt and shoes to jobseeker Ted Williamson. “I found a vacancy for
a security guard which looked exactly what he needed.”
“They said he would be interviewed straightaway, but they made
it clear he would have to be smartly
dressed,” said Nigel. “Unfortunately he wasn’t wearing a suit
and it could take a few of hours to go and change. So I thought,
Never mind, why can’t I lend him mine?
“I always keep a spare pair of trousers and a T-shirt in case I feel
like going biking after work. I got on with my job casually dressed.”
Nineteen-year-old Ted Williamson, a full-time employee now, returned
the clothes back the next day. TonyWalles, of Greenbaum in
Partnership, praised Nigel’s initiative:
“We have told staff to to spare no efforts to help jobseekers.”
