TV CREW IN FILM MYSTERY

A TV film crew making a documentary about ghosts recently had their own spooky experience. After filming in the final location — an old castle — the team were mystified when they realised that video footage filmed in one of the rooms in (1) the castle was completely blank.

The team, from (2) the BBC1 was working at Eastwell Castle, known to have some supernatural residents, when (3) the incident occurred. They wanted to film at (4) the castle because it is said to have (5) a resident ghost.

Filming went well as (6) the...TV crew moved through (7) no article...different parts of the castle and on the next day the team filmed in the haunted room. Gemma Morrissey, the producer of the documentary, recalls what happened. “We had done all (8) the other parts of the castle to set the scene for the story, before moving on to the supposedly haunted room. There, (9) no article things went smoothly too, so we finished and left. It was only later that we noticed (10) a problem. All the film of the other parts of the castle was fine, but all the haunted room tape was blank.”

Jon Wilson, (11) a documentary cameraman added, “We thought there was some kind of technical problem, so we got (12) a brand new tape and went back to film the haunted room again. When we checked (13) the tape in the editing suite, it was still blank. I’ve never seen anything like it before!"

Eastwell Castle’s resident ghost obviously doesn’t want to be a TV star. He is said to be (14) a boy who lived there in the 17th century. During a typhoid outbreak, his mother died. He survived the epidemic, but died of a broken heart exactly a year after his mother’s death.

Ms Morrissey says she is still sceptical about (15) no article ghost stories, but can’t explain the strange phenomenon of the shy spook.
