First of all you should try to concentrate on what you are doing.
Whatever you are going to do it would be a good idea to decide on your top priority and stick to it. Don’t try to find something more interesting till you complete the previous activity.
Another thing you might often have problems with is time management. There are a lot of useful tips that help to solve it.
A good idea is to make a timetable with all your lessons, homework, travel to school and back, meals and so on. Don’t forget to include some time for rest every day, for example chatting with friends, walks or visiting a swimming pool and follow this timetable.
In the beginning you may find it difficult to concentrate on studying. To make it easier you may shorten your study periods to 30—40 minutes and write down your results at the end of each period. It’s also important to have some rest after each period of work. It gives you some relaxation and keeps your spirit up! When you feel happy with managing your time, make your study periods longer.
After some time, when you feel that this approach works and your time management is improving, you will be ready for a new challenge. Revise your timetable, find the most challenging task, break it into short not so difficult parts and go ahead!
Try to study in the way you like and make better progress. Analyse your way of learning: it may be reading aloud, making notes, drawing schemes or discussing the material with your friend. Choose what is more convenient for you.
Besides that, think of the place you prefer to study at (in your room, in the kitchen, at school library or at your friends’) and try to work there when it is possible.
Analyse your work every day and record your achievements. It will help you follow the timetable and do all the tasks.

To solve the problem, you should first identify it. In your case the main problem is often lack of selfconfidence. As a result, you always hesitate and your self-doubts delay revision. You feel more and more nervous, exaggerate your weak points and finally believe you are absolutely stupid and unable to learn anything. That’s not true! Never confuse your feelings with your way of thinking. If you feel stupid, it doesn’t mean you are.
I mean you should turn your self-doubts into a constructive self-talk. If your friend behaved like that, you would definitely find some encouraging words for him. Now keep saying them to yourself!
To make this idea more practical, you should follow some easy steps. First realise your worries and feelings. Does your future really depend completely on your exam results? Then make a realistic revision plan and break the workload into small parts. When you do the task gradually, it doesn’t look that frightening, you can rely on your previous experience with such tasks and you can see some results at every step. It is really encouraging!
To feel positive and optimistic you should never try to compare your results with your classmates’. There are always things you do better, think of your successes. How to put it into life? I think an everyday study schedule will be of great help. Follow it and at the end of the day concentrate on your achievements.
Remember that all tests and exams will pass and soon will be in the past. Don’t worry about them but try to get ready in advance when you have time. There are always people who are more nervous than you, support them, it will help you feel more confident. 3
Have you ever noticed that you do everything thoroughly trying to be perfect in everything? It really happens rather often, and as a result, you have a trouble with managing your time. Being a perfectionist you do a lot of unnecessary work and often feel stressed out because you always try to do your best. It’s time to relax a bit!
First, don’t forget that you study for yourself and you should be healthy to be able to fulfil your future plans. Every time try to distinguish what you should do and you must do. It will make your expectations realistic and help you to avoid stress. Remember that everybody makes mistakes from time to time. You shouldn’t be too critical to yourself. Talk to your parents and friends, they know you well and may understand the situation better.
Try to organise your day in a reasonable way, make a timetable and include regular breaks. If you watch how your classmates work, it may help a lot, you’ll see that there are different learning styles and you will become more tolerant to yourself.
Finally, nobody is perfect! When you see a possibility to do something better, it is a new perspective for the future and an inspiration for further self-development.
